California Golfers - Monarch Dunes open Jan 1

Monarch Dunes is the Central Coast's tribute to the origins and tradition of golf. Surrounded by windswept dunes and eucalyptus trees, coastal vistas and amber-colored hillsides, Monarch Dunes Golf Club is reminiscent of the true links-style courses found in Scotland and a "must-play" for those who seek a challenging, yet amiable, unspoiled golf adventure. Journey through California's coastal highlands and discover the evolving conditions and natural beauty that inspire an unforgettable golf experience... one that calls you back time and again.

Monarch Dunes was designed by Damian Pascuzzo, president of Graves & Pascuzzo Design and past president of the American Society of Golf Course Architects (ASGCA). The course is being managed by Kemper Sports Management, the same group that manages Bandon Dunes and Pacific Dunes in Oregon and Desert Willow Resort and Black Gold Golf Course in California.

For anyone interested, I've included "first look" course information here.

I've got my tee time - can't wait!

Sounds great. Exactly where is this course? What will it cost to play? How far is it from the ocean?

I didn't know they had eucalyptus trees in Scotland, but what the hey...

In all seriousness, sweet pictures and let us know how it goes.
