Broken Shaft in new 905

In a display of frustration, I recently broke my 905t's shaft. Problem is that when I took it to Golfsmith, they said they couldn't fix it because Titleist had added a new component to this years line that they really have not seen before. I was just wondering if anyone has heard or maybe seen this problem before?

What shaft was in the club and was this in it when you bought it from Golfsmith? I.E. is this a stock shaft or did a clubmaker do the work for you?

Golfsmith is right. They have put an alumimum sheath in the bore thru hosel and the shaft goes thru the sheath. If you look at the sole of the club you can see it. I am not sure why they did it but you have to have Titliest re-shaft it for the warrenty. I read where they are going to come off that requirment once club makers learn how to deal with the sheath.

It was done to provide better weight distribution in the clubhead.

I got it from Golfsmith with a YS-6 shaft already in it. I contacted a local club repair shop and the guy said that Titleist was going to e-mail him within the week with directions to reshaft. If I send it back into Titleist, it will probably be there the entire summer.

Mine has a warning right on the shaft that attempting to reshaft through conventional methods will damage the head and render it unusuable.

Ya mine had that warning too. I think you should send it back. That would give you the best quality fix.
