Since Louisville Golf is one of the only companies still making handmade persimmon clubs, I would give them a call. They list a full repair and refinishing service for all persimmon clubs. I have dealt with them a lot, and they are completely dependable and their work is superb. I would trust them with anything I have.

Out of curiosity, are you repairing the persimmon clubs for use or display?

Display only! Pings would kill me if I hit any of my old woods.

I have just bought three beautiful persimmon woods off ebay. I remember being advised many years ago that you should use a three piece golf ball a with persimmon club...is this the case, or is it another `ol` wives tale`?

C-B-C...

CBC, The old "Top Rock" 2-piece ball has destroyed many an insert. Best to use a softer ball with the older woods. I have replaced a bunch of inserts and it requires a lot of labor to do so. The wound 3-piece balls you were told about are good for that style wood.
