Best/easiest way of taking heads off a shaft

Does anyone know of the easiest or best way of taking the heads of an old set of steel shafted clubs, the shafts are in great condition but the heads look like they have been used for agricultural purposes!

Heat the hosel with a torch or if you have a gas range, one of the burners. Then with an oven mitt twist the head while holding the shaft, sand the shaft tip of excess epoxy and you are good to go.

Make sure that the club does not have a hosel pin in it! Many of the older clubs, prior to the 1970's did. You have to drill that out first. Also, if the loft or lie was adjusted with that shaft in the clubhead, you will not beable to pull it off with your hands.

If that doesn't work just get a great big hammer.

As others have said, torch the hosel to break down the epoxy. then twist off the steel shaft. If you do have shaft pins in them, just tap them out with a center punch.
