Fitting Help

Hi there, I am looking to buy a new set of clubs from ebay. What I would like to know is can I take these clubs into a repair shop and get them fitted to me? Or do shops only fit clubs if you by them there? And any tips you can throw in would be great. Thanks!!

Shibby

Cool

They might, I recommend you call a few shops and ask them before you buy on ebay. Then you know.

Being in the repair business myself I can tell you most shops are going to charge you a pretty hefty fee to try to fit clubs bought elsewhere. It also depends on the type of club as some heads can't be bent without risking breakage and all shops I know will not stand behind a club they didn't sell, In the long run you may be better of buying from a reputable PCS class A clubmaker and have him properly fit you.
thanks

What kind of price are you looking to buy the irons and are you talking about just having the lie only adjusted to them....or lie and length adjusted? If both, why don't you just go to a shop and check out options they have for getting you into a custom set that fits your needs.

Well there is a golf shop in town going out of business. So they are liquidating all there inventory. They also have a set of irons I have been eyeing for some time. So I can get these irons well below normal price. But I'm 6'5'' so I will need extensions and a lie angle adjustment. But since this guy is going out of business he won't do any work on the clubs. He just wants to sell of what he has and get out of town.

The irons are Nike Slingshots, so Im hoping if I take it to one of there listed fitters (got names from the nike website) they might treat me a little better. But I don't want to blow all my savings getting them fit somewhere else.

Hmmm, interesting -- I follow where your coming from on the adjustments and hopeful savings after getting them lengthened and the lies adjusted. Where do you live? Perhaps some folks here can help out with giving you some clubmaker's in the area who would work a good price for your needs.
