Driver swing weight

Hi~
I recently changed my iron sets from Mizuno MX23s to Titleist 735s.
The 735s are much more heavier than my old mizunos...
I quickly adjusted to the weight change, but now i find that my driver is totally erratic.
I have a cleveland 460 comp w/ fuji tour platform 26.3 stiff.
Should I change the shaft? Or is it a swing problem?
Help~~

Have your swing check in a launch monitor or at leas your swing speed check first. If your swing fist the specs of the shaft and you like your ball flight don't change the shaft. If you don't like the ball flight...ie...it is too low or too high you probably will need to change your shaft. If you were hitting it fine before you change irons it is most likely your swing.

I have about a 112 driver speed. I went from a 63g shaft to an 78g shaft and my driver accuracy improved a ton. I did get fitted for a new club as well, but I think at least some of the improvement came from a heavier shaft. I am going to a 90g shaft in my 3-wood now, it tends to be less accurate than my driver.

Cool

I"d check the swing weight of your new irons and compare it the your driver. If there's much difference, that's your problem. Might just need to adjust the driver SW and you'll be back in business.

Agree with OnePutt, check the swing weights. Do you like the length of the Cleveland 460/Fuji? Do you think you could handle it 1/2" longer this would increase your swing weight for you and may be the only adjustment you need.

I thinker a lot with driver lengths and shaft weights, etc...sometimes a little tweak of 1/2" will make it feel heavy enough to get the job done..and increasing a driver from 44 1/2" to 45" isn't really that big of a deal...you can do that yourself or a clubmaker can do it for you at a minimal cost.

I tried lead tape on the driver, and it seemed to be doing to job on the range yesterday~
The length is 45" and I actually wanted to shorten it to 44.5" to gain more control. But seeming that this would decrease swing weight...

I was just wondering... it says on the instructions that the sticking a lead tape would increase the swing weight by 2 levels? Is this true?
Anyway, I'll have to test it out some more...

Thanks~

I think if that's the kind bought from Dick's Sporting Goods, at least the ones I've seen in there. Is that where you bought yours? If so, yes, it can do that.
