The downside to this is there is no pro shop near me to go to and test all 3 grips so I have to order online. And I have no idea which one to go with any suggestions would be appreciated.
I'd have to say the Tour Velvet, very good grip that's been probably my buddy's best seller at his golf shop. The Velvet Cord will do a number on your hands if you tend to grip the club a little tighter than you're supposed to...and so will the Wrap Cord...plus they're more expensive too.
Tour Velvet, definitely. I think the Chord are only beneficial for wedges (where you shouldn't be gripping the club too tightly so your hands don't get torn up). Otherwise, what golf-a-holic said.
Interesting you note about the wedges Greg...I actually use the cord for my fairway woods to get a little better grip on the club...but wedges are a good idea for sure.
If you like the cord grips, you should try Lamkin's
They are not hard on the hands, last for quite a while and are great during hot weather. Tour velvets are just fine, and as inexpensive as they are, you can afford to regrip every 25 rounds or so...which you should with these.
Just my two cents
My irons had the Golf Pride tour Wrap Cord on them... only downside is to me they feel a little on the fat side... but Golf Pride's cord grips last forever! When i do get them regripped, i think i'll go with the GP v-55 cord. It's a great grip.
