How to fix rattle in driver head?

Hi, my Ignite 460 driver started developing a rattle in the head. I asked around and it seams like the rattle is from loose hardened glue or a loose o-ring seal. Is there a good permanent fix for this? Thanks!

Tony - This is not an uncommon problem. There are products on the market such as "Rattle Stop" that you may want to investigate. These products are basically rat glue. They are injected into the head either thru the hosel [shaft needs to be removed] or thru a small hole in the bottom of the head. Depending on your ability you may want to visit a club maker who does these repairs routinely. Good Luck!

We sell rat glue if you need some.

We also fix rattles if you wish to have a clubmaker fix it.

Bluehen,
Won't the rat glue affect the driver's dynamics and muffle the sound upon impact? I mean if you put enough or too much rat glue in there, won't it deadened the "THWACK" sound? Thanks for the quick replies guys!

Yes, it can affect the sound by how much is used. I've put clubheads that rattle over a gas flame (stove) and watched how close/carefully you place it over the flame...keep it a safe distance to keep from burning the bottom side of the driver and enough of a distance so that the heat can warm up the bottom of the club/rat glue....I've done this before safely with a few drivers.

Others may discourage this practice, but it will ensure that you don't change any of the headweight and sound, which seems like a concern of yours and was one of mine, reason I did it this way.

Good luck.

I asked around and this is what I came up with.
Most club manufacturers have an amount of glue on the bottom of the driver to catch any loose particles inside the head. What I did was I hit a few balls to get the rattle to happen again. Then I made sure that it settled in the bottom where the glue is, then I used a blow dryer and heat up the bottom hoping the melted glue caught the loose rattle. After all that, I then slamed the driver bottom on carpeted floor to make sure the particle gets nicely embedded into the glue. I played a round this past weekend and haven't heard the rattle yet. Hopefully the rattle doesn't happen again. If it does, I can easily fix it. Thanks for all the help guys!!
