changing shafts

I am fairly new to golf, about 3 seasons and know nothing about club making and repair. I need to put new stiff shafts in to replace my regular flex shafts and was wondering 1) how difficult is it 2) do i need any special equipment 3) Is there a book or something online to explain how to do it and finally 4) would it be worth doing myself and would I save any real money rather than bringing them to someone else to do. Oh one more question if I brought them somewhere what would be a reasonable fee to expect (above material cost) for irons pw-3i?
any info would be great thanks

I'd say if you intend to pursue this as more than a one-time deal, then it may be worth your while to invest in the needed tools to do so and in the long run, you'd save yourself some money.

If, however, you want to play around so-to-speak, I'd advise that you take them to a competent clubmaker....our forum sponsor Custom Golf Sales would be more than happy to assist you and take care of your needs for a reasonable amount.

Cool

It's not that hard to build clubs. If you have a Golfsmith near you, check out when they have a club making class next and spend the $30 or so for the class. You'll learn all the basics on club assembly and then you can decide if it's for you or not. You will also find out what tools you will need. Take the 1/2 day class, it's worth it.
