changing the degree of a driver for useas a three wood ?
Is it possible to size or change the degree of a driver in my case a big bertha
steel head III to use it as a three wood ? or is this just an impossible change ?
I'm sure it could be done. But why not just buy a 15 degree driver and not mess with it? Either a 13* or 15* driver would be a better way to go if you think about it.

There is a reason why fw woods have smaller heads and lower profiles. It is possible to increase the loft angle on the Steel Head III, but it won't make it a 3 wood.
I bet you could get more than $50 for your used driver if you sold it on ebay. Of course I don't know what condition it's in, but I checked ebay's past sales and there's still value to a BB steel head III.
I have not seen that done before and I remember seeing on a program" whats in the bag" that changing the degree of loft is extremely hard to do in any wood and mostly the tour vans that follow the tour events end up changing the lies of some woods which will change the loft only slightly. Better off just getting a strong 3wood(13 degree) then going thrrough that headache
If you look at Golf Channels website under whats in the bag and take a look at Vijay he was using a Cally wood bent signifcantly strong.
I actually use a 12* steelhead III driver I reshafted as my 3 wood. Hit it great off the deck with good hieght and carry and even better off the tee. It's like having two drivers as well so if one is acting up I have the other. The steelhead III 3 wood is still very popular on tour and the driver is simply a larger version which for me goes well with the 460 drivers. I can't get comfortable swinging a 460 driver and then a 280cc fairway. All the threes now look like 5 or 7 woods compared to the big drivers. My 12* driver/3 wood is proportionatley sized to my driver and that gives me the comfort/confidence level I was looking for. My clubfitter still can't believe how well I hit it off the deck and how easily I get the ball up. My playing partners haven't figured it out yet and are getting frustrated by the distance I'm getting off the tee with my '3'? I love getting into their heads like that!
