SMT Durometer?

After thinking I was going to buy either a Vokey or a Taylormade RAC TP wedge, I find out about the SMT Durometer which is supposed to be on par with the Vokey. I was thinking about getting it built with a Rifle Spinner shaft, does anybody have any previous experience with this combination? Or with the wedge head in general?

I have a 55* green on Spinner 6.5. These are beautiful wedges that are excellent performers. I love the setup at address and the milled faces are cool as well. Quality through and through. YOU will not be disappointed with the durometer series

Tremendous wedge!

I think it puts more spin on the ball than any wedge on the market.

I donated one to a local tournament this last weekend. It stayed on the head pro's desk for a while until he called me and said he needed to purchase another one. He put the original in his bag!

The Spinner shaft is great for a player that likes to hit a lot of 1/2 and 3/4, feel shots.

Hope this helps.

We have sold alot of the Durometer wedges. They have became very popular with the CNC milled face. I have heard plenty of stories of how the ball just sticks on the green when hit with these wedges.

The Spinner is a good shaft and should compliment the head quite nicely for approach shots.

Let me know if we can help and don't forget abou the discount.

Also, one more question, I have Dynamic Gold S300 shafts in my irons; should I have the wedge match those?

The DG Golds work very well in wedges, but if you like to hit a lot of 1/2 and 3/4 shots with a lot of head feel, the Rifle Spinners are hard to beat.

Slick hit it dead on!! Depends on how you play most of your wedge shots.

I cannot say that everyone will shred balls, but I actually do shred a couple with my Durometers. That's a first for me. Maybe that will give you some idea of how much spin the Durometers put on the ball.

They have green or black inserts, shock dampening inserts. According to Mike Tait, owner of SMT, you generally cannot feel the dampening difference, but on the machines used to measure the shock generated when the head was being designed (you know designed, not cloned, oh gee, don't get me started), there was a 10% reduction in shock with the black. It's either 3% green, 13% black, or 4% green, 14% black, in terms of shock reduction, I do not recall which.

Hope that helps!

Thanks Dave, was drawing a blank on that one (grew up in 70's, ha ha)

Just heard from my son by phone, he's a US Marine, on his second tour in Iraq, he's doing great.

Give Lois our best
