Scotch-brite question?

I had a quick question. I want to know if useing these on Callaway x-14's are ok. I went to Vegas recently and played a few rounds. One of these rounds I played with some serious golfers. Well, I drove it into some little red rocks. They told me I had to hit it out of rocks..... So I did. Bad decision. The sole of my 5 iron got thrashed. Well, I used a Scotch-Brite pad to clean up the sole a little. I used the one for stainless steal so it did a nice job. I was just wondering if it is possible to buff too much. By this I mean will what I did effect the play of the club? It didn't completely get rid of the scuffs, but it made them a lot better. oh, and where the bottom of the face and sole meet looks slightly rounded is that normal? Please help. I need to know if I have to buy a new 5 iron. Thanks. -Jake

I can't imagine a scoth brite pad taking off too much material to make a difference in performance. And as far as the round bottom with the Callaways it should have a small bit of roundness to it. otherwise you would dig into the fairway too much and not bounce through the turf. Compare it to the 4 and 6 irons closely.
