Clubmaking Schools?

I was wondering if anyone here has attended any of the clubmaking schools? Golfsmith and GolfWorks both offer a 5 day course, and they are both priced fairly close to each other. I'm just curious if they are worth attending, or would I be better off just picking some books up and learning on my own? I don't plan on opening up a business or anything like that right now, but it may be a future option though.

Thanks

If you want to learn just basic clubfitting like re-gripping or even shafting, then if there is a "golfsmith store" near you they will offer a half day course which is very cheap and you learn what you need to know really for basic stuff and you might even get to keep the 5 iron you assemble. Considering a store, then I recommend the 5 day course and as far as which one I would imagine that both are equally fine. Personnally I would go to Golfsmith which used to have Tom Wishon there as a clubhead designer.Plus there are many Golfsmith stores popping up everywhere to get that special rate if you are a clubmaker.

Cool

If all you want to do is learn how to build clubs, the Golfsmith 1/2 day class is hard to beat. You build a 5 iron and a graphite shaft driver in the class and you get to keep both of them. Cost is around $30 and you get that much in discount coupons that you can use after you take the class. Plus the 2 new clubs to play with. Hard to beat the price.
