fitting length

Can any of you guys share some info on checking lengths of clubs. Had a friend ask about checking her clubs to see if she had the right lengths. I did tell her to be properly fitted it would be more than just checking the lengths, but just being a weekend tinker I don't have all the knowledge but I said I would find out some basic info on checking lengths. So please help get me started in the right direction on her lengths.

Thanks, Clay

The Ping website has an on-line fitting system. It's not foolproof, but it is worth exploring.

Here is a general basic set of measurements from Golfsmith. Have your friend stand straight up in an upright normal stance. measure from the floor to their left wrist(right handers). This will be for a womans club.

5 iron measurements......
between 39"-41"............38" 5 iron
37"-39"............37.5"
34"-37"............37"
32"-34"............36.5"
30"-32"............36"
