ping SI 3 driver hosel

Found a ping si3 12' driver in the lake at the course and decided to re-shaft and take it to 2nd swing and see what they would give me for it. Anyway to the question, using the boiling water method for shaft removal is there any damage to the plastic hosel or whatever the hosel is made of. It didn't seem loose but I know trying to pull or push on it is not as forceful as hitting a golf ball. I have already replaced the shaft and was just wondering if its gonna be safe?

Thanks,
Clay

It should be fine, so you say you used boiling water to take the old shaft out? how long did that take? and did you just let it sit on the kitchen stove in a pot while it was boiling or what?
