Got a question, there is a guy on Ebay selling the same exact tool with the cup cut out, your picture does not, is there differant versions of this tool. Had one of these, but the nozzle which is plastic broke. Are the new ones metal or still plastic? Did work good until it broke.

promosed to tell you all how i went with my air gripper so here goes.
Puts grips on new shafts a dream. Would maybe put some masking tape around the shaft next time though as the grip isnt quite tight enough, twists round while playing. (was on a 9 wood though so maybe a less cut down shaft might of been better, doubt it though)
Didnt manage to remove a grip that was put on with grip tape (maybe if i used proper solvents instead of de-icer??)
Also a bit hairy with industrial size compressors, gonna run it through a regulator next time.

All of the items were dollar store junk. There is another airgun being sold on Ebay for 20.00 that I found at Harbor freight tools for 4.00. That is the best because it has a pistol design which gives you more leverage when installing grips. Some folks try to sell you a tube to prevent the grip from blowing up. Unless the tube is clear, it is useless because it prevents you from seeing any airbubbles in the grip. To remove grips using the gun I described above, insert the needle into the hole at the end of the grip. The needle on the above gun is best because it is a snug fit in grip hole. aftre inserting needle into grip, start giveing short bursts of air. DO NOT use maximum air or you will blow up grip. As you blow air in with one hand, use opposite hand to feel the grip for air bubble. If Air bubble forms, remove air gun a and let air escape. Now start again and twist and pull grip using short bursts. This is the key, using short bursts of air. If the grips have only been on for a season or two, the grips should blow right off. It's the grips that have been on for years that are hard to get off. These are the ones you have to coax off. To reinstall grips, lubricate the opening of the grip with either saliva or solvent. start the grip over the end of the shaft and give short bursts of air as the push the grip into place. Once you have the grip on all the way, give a few more bursts as you position the grip into the right place. I hope this explanation was clear enough. If you have any questions, email me and I'll try to help you.

Could you give us a link or a model # of the pistol you are talking about at Harbor Freights?

Yes, the second link is the one, the duster. The pistol shape gives you more leverage when installing grips. the one with the two inch needle is probably best.

If you are talking about the air inlet, yes that is 1/4 NPT. I'm not sure about the size of the needles thread.
