Changing grip size SW etc.. help

I would like to move from a standard grip at 49 grams to a midsize grip with out changin Swing weight much if possible. I like the feel of the GP DD midsize... Would it be possible or smart to take a standard size lightweight DD at 39 grams and build it up with tape to a near midsize... assuming that 10 grams of tape could do it.. I am thinking of doing this especially on the woods were I don't want to reduce the swingweight because they feel great.

How many wraps would it take to get the standard to midsize range and is there any way to no how much a wrap of tape weighs ?

thanks !

It is possible to use grip tape to build a standard grip to midsize. Generally 2 additional wraps(3 total) would build you up to midsize. A 10" strip of grip tape weighs roughly 2 grams, so you would only be looking at 6 grams total which would not significantly change the swingweight.
