Shaft Question

I've recently purchased a shaft from a Taylor Made V-steel and am going to be putting the shaft in my v-steel. The shaft is a Aldila NV-65 and the length of it is 41.5 inches, when I put the shaft in my v-steel will the club be standard length? or a little bit shorter? and if it is going to be shorter would the club be long enough for someone whose is 5'11"

that all depends on whether it came from 3,4,5,6 and on, wood and what you are putting it in. a 3 wood to 3 wood will be the same, a 5 wood shaft to a 3 wood and the shaft will be shorter (about 3/4 in. or so). a 3 wood to a 5 wood , the shaft will be too long. a shorter shaft can be extended from the butt end or cut down if too long. by the lenght stated, this came out of a 3 wood. the overall lenght for a 3 wood is 42.5 in. and should fit you perfectly. the aldila nv is a very good shaft by the way.

Cool

If the overall length of a 3 wood is in fact, 42.5, and this shaft is 41.5, then I don't see how it could be too short for any fairway wood you would want to use it for. The only time you would have a problem, would be if it was a bore-thru head design, then it would have to be the same length as the finished club length. I hope this answers your question. Later, Don.

I'm no math genius, but I'm confused, isn't he all ready starting out 1" shorter than standard? My 3 wood shaft is 43" stock, and i'm 5'8". For a guy 5'11'', I would think a 41.5 shaft is too short.
