Noob question..scratched graphite shaft

Hi all,
I was regripping my cobra F speed driver today. When I cut the old grip off, I was a bit careless and cut a 2 inch long scratch in the graphite, about where my lower hand would be on the grip. I didn't cut deeply..just enough to see thru the color of the graphite. Will this scratch hurt anything, or will the grip tape seal it ok ?...hoping it's only cosmetic.

It's really hard to say without seeing the scratch. You could fill the scratch in with clear nail polish or a thin layer of 5 minute epoxy. Just be sure to wipe off all the excess epoxy. You just want to leave the epoxy inside the scratch. Next time, buy yourself a pack of hook blades. They only cost about a buck or two for a pack of five. You'll be pulling the grip away as you cut and wont have to worry about scratching the shaft.
