I have several clone hybrid heads that look like the Taylormade Dual. Anyway I have a 3/19*,4/22*. and 5/25*. The trimming charts don't show, so I'll ask. Would I trim to the specs of the same degree wood? What about length? Do I cut to the same length as the current 3,4, and 5 irons? I will do some in steel and some in graphite. I've heard graphite should be 1/2 longer than coresponding steel. Any help would be appreciated.

The tip trimming would be the same as the coresponding iron that they are replacing. As far as the length, generally it is 1" longer than the corresponding iron that it is replacing. So standard 3 iron is 39" so the 19* would be 40".

Brian, thanks. Same length for steel and graphite?

Brian, the only problem, is that the heads require a wood shaft, as opposed to an iron shaft, so there is no trimming chart available that would show the tip trimming for the 3 iron, when the shafts trimming chart only has trimming instructions for woods. Does it make sense what I'm saying?

Part of it will depend on what shaft you are putting in them. If it is a R/S combo shaft, then you will still tip it like the coresponding iron. Now if you are installing a shaft that is already labeled to a set flex, then there would be no tip trimming, just butt cut to length.
OK, brian, I'm sorry but I'm still confused. Maybe this will make it easier. The shaft I have is a True Temper Lite XL wood shaft. Here's the trimming chart for the irons, and the chart for the woods. I want a reg. flex 3 hybrid. What is your recommendation. Bob

Even though you are using the wood shaft, you would still tip it like an iron. So go ahead and tip it 2" for the 3 iron. Once you butt cut it to length, it will give you the desired flex.
When in doubt, do a comparison of the weight of the heads vs. the average weight for a component 5w head, 7w head or whatever and factor in the length of the club your preparing to build. Start with the suggested tip trimming charts and go from there.
