refinishing a putter

I bought a Pinnacle putter the other day for $4, and I would like to refinish it. How would I go about doing this. Anything would help. Thanks

I have no idea what it's made of, it looks pretty old as I can't find any info on it. It's a black blade with tungsten weights in the back of it. I'll post some pics up this weekend.

If its not to rough and dinged up but has some small scratches or rust, try some rubbing compound. I'll clean my clubs up at the end of the year with it. Its works great.

Does that just make it shine more? I was thinking since it was a cheap putter I'd actually repaint it or something like that, just for something to do.
