Lie Angle Query

Hi there,

Im in the process of picking up a new set of clubs. I know I need to have the shafts lengthened about 1 1/4 inches but Im not sure about the lie angle. Simple solution would be to get myself fitted but thats where the problem starts. Im Left Handed and I live in Japan. After searching for a club fitter Ive discovered that its impossible to get fitted for a set of left handed clubs! Seems not too many Japanese golfers are leftys. I was in a golf shop the other day and there wasnt one set of Left Handed clubs for sale! Bizzare! Ive been told that I need to go to Osaka or Tokyo which is not really an option.

Id appreciate any suggestions as to how I should adjust my clubs. From researching Ive seen suggestions that because my clubs need to be lengthened I need a more upright lie angle. I also pull alot of my short irons right so would that suggest a flatter lie angle? Im 6ft 4, used to play off 5 a long time ago but think I would be more likely to shoot in the 90s nowadays as I havenet really played for 5 years.

Any suggestions on how to tackle this problem would be greatly appreciated!

that is bizzare, to lengthen a club 1 1/4 in. the lie will need to bent2 to 3 degrees upright, depending on how you address the ball. have one bent two degrees first, set it down on the floor and take a look at it while in your stance, the club head should have an angle to where the toe is slightly pointing upward. if they have a lie board to hit off from. use it. that would be best. the mark on the bottom of the head should be in the middle.

Thanks for the tip. I plan to purchase a set online, mainly due to the above mentioned problem, so I think Ill get them bent two degrees then can always adjust them once they arrive.
