Custom fitting for rescue clubs?

My irons are fit to std lie +1/2"...would I hit my rescue clubs better if the length were +1/2" and what would the effects be on adding a butt plug extention to a graphite shaft?

whether you hit them better a 1/2" longer is hard to say, it will add maybe 10 yards of distance. adding a plug extension of just a half inch will not noticebly effect the shaft.

The quick and dirty answer is no, you will not hit your hybrids better if they were 1/2" longer. It has been shown that more consistent on center hits are a function of shortening the shaft length, not making them longer. You were fitted at +1/2" which is the longest length at which you still made consistently solid contact. It cannot be assumed that 1/2" shorter will cause you to be more inconsistent. This simply is not enough of a difference to affect your posture or swing plane. However, since you were fitted at +1/2" it would follow that you will still be able to handle that extra length in your rescue clubs. So I would look at swingweight. You may need to extend them to get the swingweight where you want it, then you could make a case for increasing the length.

You could always give it a whirl to see how they play, as the extensions are easily removed (as long as you don't use slow cure expoxy!). My guess is you won't notice a whole heck of alot of difference.

Swingweight is not an issue...I can change the weight plugs...I was more concerned with address posture vs lie angle; if I am having to hunch over just ever so slightly as opposed to my irons I was wondering what the difference would be...and the + 1/2 in my irons made a considerable difference in results. Mabye I will try it as you say they are easily removed...just need to find the translation for slow cure epoxy in Bahasa.

Any store that has a small hardware dept. should carry 5 min. 2 part epoxy. Often times they come in what looks like a double barrell syringe. Again, make sure its the quick set.
