Getting a club reshafted.. suggestions??

I want to replace my stock Fujikara(sp?) shaft on my callaway X460 driver. I know nothing about shafts except I want to go to an X-Stiff. Anyone have any suggestions.

How much does it cost and how long will it take to put a new shaft on a club?

I have replaced my Graphite Design shaft with a Grafalloy Pro Launch stiff. It gets great low end kick. They have a x-stiff with a driver swing speed range of 105-120. The shaft costs about $55... Golfsmith could install it for you I'm sure for a decent price. If you have never done this before I would not suggest trying it on anything good. Repacing a graphite shaft and saving your Fujikara shaft takes experience. hope this helps.. tx

Get yourself analyzed

I did the same thing mainly because mine broke. The guy at the shop asked," Do you just want to pick out any shaft or one that's properly fitted for you?" Long story short, the analysis was free, I got a shaft fitted to my golf swing and speed and my longest drive is 342 yards with a TM R5 with a 330 cc head....no tailwind and no downhill lie.

How much did you pay for the shaft? I went to get fitted for the correct shaft for my driver and they wanted to sell me a $250 shaft. I paid $80 for the driver on e-bay. Why would I pay 3 times that amount just to re-shaft it?

We need a little more info before we can help you answer this question.

What is your:

swingspeed?
typical ball flight?
club from 150yds?
driver carry distance?
tempo/transition?
preference on control vs. distance?

These are some of the questions that need to be address when selecting an aftermarket shaft...
