How to decide on shaft length etc.?

Hey guys, I am probably going to get myself a custom Nike SQ built. But I have a few options.

1) Shaft length
2) Grip and thickness of tape

I am looking to get an aldila nv75 stiff shaft. I have only ever had a stock shaft length before (45 inch i presume). However I am only 5'8" so was wondering whether a hair shorter might be a good idea?

As for grip, how do i decide this? My hands are not particularly large, but how do i actually decide if a standard grip and tape thickness is right or whether I should have it a touch thinner?

Thanks

you're basically on the borderline of standard length or 3/4 shorte, since you're already used to standard length, i'd leave it there.
the grip thickness depends on the type of grip, some sre slightly thicker than others, but generally, one piece of tape would be sufficient. i'm 5'10" with average size hands, maybe slightly on the smallish side, i like mine strectched just a little. the tips of your fingers should just touch the pads of your thumb when gripping the club.

Shorter Equals more control longer equals longer drives. Im 6' and i play mine 44 1/4. As far as grip who ever is building it for you should be able to get the right grip for ya.

For your grip size, bring another club in which the grip feels right to you into the shop. A competent clubmaker can match the size for ya. If its truly a custom made club, then clublength and grip size should be both included in the dynamic fitting process.

just a suggestion, but if u measure your hand from the crease of your wrist to the end of your middle finger, and also just the lenght of your middle finger and give these to the clubmaker they should be able to determine the grip size.
