Butt trimming driver shaft

I have a driver with a 46" shaft which I would like to shorten to 44"-44.5". When I use the driver, I already grip down about 2 inches.

What type of things do I need to consider when I cut it down 2 inches (weight, stiffness)?

don't worry about anything..... Butt trimming is ok , now if your tip trimming then you need to worry about the stiffness. Most 46" shafts today are made to be cut down to 45 playing length so that would make them 43-44" actual shaft length.
