I was wondering if any body new if you could reshaft the older wood head woods. I havea Northwestern 12 wood that is interesting to carry around but I was wondering if I could get it reshafted. Any one else ever reshafted an old wooden headed club???
Yes it can be reshafted--many years ago I reshafted a lot of wood drivers. The old epoxy must be heated slowly to not start the wood on fire. Part of the skill is in re-whipping the wood club. Any old timers in the golf industry can do this for you--I still love the sound of the wooden head hitting the ball. Good Luck!

Certainly! Not a difficult job at all, if you're experienced.
I also have one of these old Northwestern clubs (a metal five wood from late eighties/early nineties). It has a strange looking original manufacturers shaft in it (1 single step only), and I think it maybe pinned at the hosel. I would like to put a different shaft in it as a bit of a side project, any idea's anyone? Also, would I need to re-pin it or would epoxy be enough on it's own?
I've got an old persimmon 5 wood I like to carry on occasion that's been reshafted a couple of times. I had a friend do it. I work on clubs some myself but have no experience with wood woods and didn't want to take any chances.
