Trimming a rifle 6.0 Flighted shaft

I recently purchased a Mcgregor V foil demo 6 iron mainly to try out the shaft (Royal Precision Flighted 6.0). The club is pretty good and I really like the feel of the shaft. The question is: Now that I have finished with the club could I pull the shaft and re-use it in a wedge, if so, how would I need to trim it?

If the Mac's use 0.355" tapered shafts, you will not be able to trim it to spec. If, by some chance, it is a parallel tip shaft, the Rifle trim instructions require approx. 5/8" trim between clubs. Just be sure not to trim too much as to make the wedge too short for your needs. If I had to bet, the Mac's take tapered shafts, however.

unless you install this shaft in another oem wedge, Agoodwalkspoiledagain is right, won't be able to use it.

I pulled the shaft yesterday, I think it is a parallel tip. How would I be able to tell for sure ? I have looked at the True Temper site and looked at the difference between taper and parallel tips from their shaft diagrams, the tip end looks like the parallel type. If it is OK to trim, I take it I need to take 5 increments of 5/8 to get it to wedge flex. By the way I am going to put the shaft into a Letters Rusty 60* lob wedge.

before you cut, see it if it fits snug into the wedge head.

Cool

You could as a last resort, measure the shaft with a micrometer, or dial caliper. What you want is a .370 diameter shaft. If the shaft you have measures .370", you have a parallel tip shaft, and you can cut it down to fit a wedge if you want.
