A standard size is when the grip size is equal to the shaft diameter as in a .580 grip on a .580 shaft with one layer of tape. The same holds true for a .600 grip on a .600 shaft. A .580 grip on a .600 shaft with one layer of tape is +1/64th oversize. A .600 grip on a .580 shaft with one layer of tape is -1/64th undersize.

for strickly mens grips, that is correct, but most .580 grips are designated as womens grips which have less material and even on a .600 shaft, the outside diameter would be smaller.
The above is true, 560 is a womens grip and both 560 and 600 are mens grips. what matters is that the core diamter of the grip matches the diameter of the shaft. Most grips are made in standard size which amounts to fitting a hand which is 7 1/2" in length. For every 1/4" smaller or larger, would equal to 1/64" in diameter of the grip. The 3 things you need to know are the length of your hand, the core diamter of your grips and the diameter of your shaft.
A 0.580 grip on a 0.580 shaft will give standard size.
A 0.600 grip on a 0.600 shaft will give standard size.
My current steel shafts are 0.600 and and my grips are 0.580 so my grips are 0.020 oversized but thats a personal preference. Once my new shafts are fitted (Dynamic gold lite) the shaft size is 0.610 so my 0.580 grips will become 0.030 oversized.
