Shortened my putter shaft

Good evening fellow members of this great forum!

I have a putter with a standard shaft length of 35" - A TM Sebring 3 ASGI. Tonight I regripped it and took 2" off the shaft to make it 33" as I am 5'7" and the 35" just seemed too long.

I done this as I couldn't afford to get a new putter of the right length (see the Mrs Mattgolf68 thread and all will be explained!!). I know this may have been done before but do you think I have upset the weight and balance of the club by doing this? and could the shaft being too long be the root cause of all my missed putts from 3 feet and in?

By the way, have installed a great WINN midsize medalist grip! It feels great

You were probably right to shorten it. I'm sure one of the club makers here can offer a solution on rebalancing it. If you want some articles on determining correct putter lenght check out this thread choosing a putter

I wouldn't worry about it unless you notice it. And even when you do notice it, it could be for the better.

I took 1.5" off my old tp mills putter and my putting came alive. I am 5 10 and the putter was at 33.5" I loved it, but I am working on the SBST putting movement and that tp mills was more for the arc swinger. But I made a lot more putts after cutting that thing down.
