Won a Bang driver - now what?

Well, I was one of the fortunate winners in the Bang STORM slogan contest. It's great to win, and I appreciate the prize, but it ain't what I thought it would be, so I have a dliemma. And please don't interpret this as any type of complaint! Winning ANYTHING is wonderful to me!

First, I thought I'd be winning a complete driver - shaft, grip, etc. But it looks like I'm getting a driver head from Bang golf. I came in second, so the other winner is choosing to wait and get a new STORM driver head. I was asked to choose between a Bangster or Bang-O-Matic head, so I chose a Bangster.

Now, once I receive the head, should I attempt to build my own club (will be the first time) or should I find someone else to put it together for me? I'm pretty handy with things - have built fishing rods, blackpowder rifle kits, etc. What special tools or equipment would I need? There's got to be more to it than just squirting some epoxy in the hosel and sticking in the shaft!

Any shaft recommendations? Grips? Where to buy? What supplies do I need?

Also, anybody have any experience with the Bangster head? I figure I couldn't go wrong, no matter which head I chose, and it basically came to a coin toss!

If I need to give more info, let me know. Any help is appreciated!

I'm not a gearhead by any stretch but I have helped build sets, including the Maltby's that I'm playing now. Nothing against your handiness but I would advise going to a local golf shop and have the club built by an experienced assembler...and ask if you can watch the process. There is more to it than meets the eye. You will find all the answers you seek at a qualified shop.

btw, congrats on the win (well, place)

definitely get it assembled for you. A club head flying that fast is not something you want flying off the shaft lol.

So I guess Elmer's glue, a four foot piece of bamboo and some electrical tape is out of the question!

Thanks for the replies. Our fellow member who lives a little south of here, mikey300, has offered to help me put something together. He assures me he has quite a bit of experience in club assembly. Despite rumors to the contrary, unlike his bowling balls he doesn't try to drill finger holes in the clubs.

Hopefully we can get the driver built before Lefty comes across the pond to visit and we play together on Oct. 7th!

Building a club is not that hard and it looks like you easily have the ability to do the job. Go to Golfsmith.com and watch the videos of how it is done. Now if you going to get into swingweighting - that is more work. The first two woods I built are my main woods and are in my signature below. Could not be happier. For a graphite shaft, all you need is a rod saw blade, epoxy, ferrule, grip tape, grip, 60 sandpaper, and the prep strip for the shaft prep. PM me and I can go into more detail.
By the way, the UST V2 shaft is excellent.

Make sure they are not giving you the first production Bangsters.

There was a "communication" error when they first came out between the old management and the foundry and what resulted was a very small bulge and roll on the face.

Ask Kenny at Bang to handpick a newer model.

"Bulge and roll" are a part of every wood head. It's what creates the gear effect when you hit the ball. The amount of bulge and roll control the amount of gear effect that the clubface has.
Golfsmith used to explain it quite well. I don't have any 10 year old component catalogs to look back in, but it wouldn't surprise me any if they don't still explain it in the newer ones.
If Indacup is trying to convey that the improper amount was used, it was probably solved before any clubheads actually hit the market. I seriously doubt Bang would intentionally sell a product they knew wasn't manufactured to their specifications.
