Questions about leather grips

How do you adjust grip size on leather grips? Also, how do you care for them?

The size is adjusted by building up the tape layers under the underlisting, before you wrap the grip. I use saddle soap once a year to clean the grips, the rest of the time I just wipe them down with a damp rag. There is another product that my pro swears by, but I can't remember the name at 4 am, lol.

Gripmaster makes the tackiest feeling leather grip on the market, but they recommend ONLY water be used to clean them, or it will remove the chemical that makes them tacky. I have one on an Arnold Palmer Original putter made by Callaway. I made the mistake of letting a pro club builder attempt to put on the first one I bought...$35 for the grip which I ordered myself...and I heard an explosion in the back of the shop. It seems he did not know how to install a leather grip, and tried to blow it on. Well, he suceeded in exploding the rubber under layer of the grip and had to replace my $35 putter grip. Man, was he upset. But you have to build up the shaft with tape to get it tight, and then you can twist the grip on in the directon of the leather wraps. I think it is the very best putter grip I have ever had. I would love to have a set for my irons and woods, but those grips are about $75 for a full set just for the grips. Check out Gripmaster on the web.

Not sure about adjusting them but untl I got my Cameron Circa 62 I had never played with a putter that had a leather grip on it. I have to say that they are nice.
