Loose driver shaft

One of my drivers has a slightly loose shaft, you can twist it back and forth and you can feel it click. very very slight though. any quick fixes w/o pulling the shaft? ive hit with it many times after it started and it hasnt gotten worse.

A shop will probably pull it out, and put it back in for free

Sounds like it was not properly installed and needs to be taken off and reinserted. Otherwise it will come off, usually at the worse possible time.

It needs to be pulled and re-epoxyed.

I had the same thing happen to my 580XD a couple of years ago - the shaft had been installed two years prior. I called the clubmaker who did the work and he pulled the shaft, cleaned up the contact points (shaft and clubhead), and re-epoxyed. He did it free of charge.

Just throwing it out there, but could it be the ferrule clicking and not the shaft turning? I've had that happen before in irons, but didn't know if that would happen with the shorter wood ferrules.

sounds more like a cracked shaft, if it was loose, as much pressure is on the club head when swinging it, it would surely com off, ive seen many of them crack, sounds just like your explaining , get it pulled and checked. you dont want to see a club head hit some one in a full swing, its not pretty

Sounds loose...but if you're hearing a clicking when turning it....then theres some sort of degredation...sounds like te shaft has gone south.

IF the shaft turns, the epoxy is not set correctly, the shaft will need to removed and reinstalled

If the head is not turning, then you are fine. Let me ask ... do you have a corded grip installed? I have noticed before if you twist the head holding onto the grip, a corded grip will "click". Other than that, I wouldn't be surprised if the shaft's integrity is compromised.

Sounds like great advice from a clubmaker.

Ge it fixed. It won't be free, but won't cost much.
