How important is Lie Angle with Wedges?

I have decided that I want to add a Gap Wedge or Utility Wedge to my bag b/c I am sick of ******** up 100 yard shots. It seems the PW is good for 105-115 & SW is good from 75-90, but if I try to crank a SW or lightly hit or 3/4 hit a PW, the results are miserable. I have Ping clubs that I have been fitted for that I am happy with, however they are G2's which are not currently being made.

So my question is, how important is the lie angle for wedges? Should I order a UW from Ping (either the G5 or Rapture) to meet my specs or is an off the shelf Wedge going to suffice as long as the loft is what I am looking for (50-52) because the lie angle is not as critical for Wedges?

By the way, I have been scouring Ebay with no luck.

Probably the most important. The 3 or 4 yards you pull or push a six iron could still be a good shot. Pull a wedge that much and you will probably pull your hair out.

The more loft, the more offline the shot will go due to an inappropiate lie.

According to Ping's site G2s still available, you could almost certainly at least get the fill-in clubs you want.

If you do not know the loft/lie of your Pings, take your Ping PW to a golf shop and have the loft/lie checked. Then have your new wedges adjusted to match. Costs about $3 a club to adjust.

lie angle is paramount in wedges. Lie angle is the accuracy of the club and as the angle of the loft increases so does the importance of the lie angle.

Lie angle can be adjusted by a certified builder with no issues and for low $$$
