Plugs in drivers

hey guys pulled the shaft outta my macgregor nvg2 head....there was a lil plug in there that came out of the head...it was kinda rubbery/plastic/epoxy type material. someone told me that you can pull them out with no problem..just wanted to know if anyone knew what it is there for???

Since the NVG is not a bore thru, most rubbery pieces put into the shaft are for vibration reduction and sound dampening. You can pull it and install or leave it in the original shaft

well it was wierd when i pulled the shaft it was in the head...and i installed another shaft and i think it fell out now cause it soundslike it...gonna pull the shaft out again...i hope its the plug that fell out!

let's hope it didn't fall out because that would mean that it's now inside the head, which that is also the purpose, is to keep stuff (mainly epoxy) from falling in.
