Golf Pride vs. Sharpo vs. Pride FCR & Others

What's the difference between the actual Golf Pride Multicompound grips and the similar grips by other manufacturers?

Does anyone have experience with these grips?

I've seen these other brands:

Sharpro
Integra
Pride FCR

If you do a search for "golf pride grips" on Ebay, you'll see all of the variations.

I love the actual GP Multi's but wouldn't mind switching to a less expensive version if they are just as good.

I have multicompound on my driver, and a Sharpro Patriot on one of my wedges. The mulitcompound features two different grip variation, on for bottom hand, one for top hand. The top grip offers a frim grip, while the lower provotes good feel. I like the Sharpro, but I don't much care for the multicompound..it's kinda harsh!

Yikes!

I just looked at the Patriot and that would definitely tear my left pointer finger up.

I just realized that a set of clubs I bought on Ebay last night has the PTO's on them. So I'll find out for myself I guess.

I didn't think the golfpride's were all that expensive, regripped them myself though so that probably decreased the price. Gotta love the multicompound though.

Huh..never had a problem with that... They'll be fine. Very gripy, and pretty soft, even though, they look harsh. If you don't like them, then I'll buy them from you!

I haven't tried the Golf Pride multis..are they harsh, or are they softer?

You're right, they're not very expensive. But I re-grip about 20 sets per year...so it adds up.

Thanks for the feedback guys!

The Multicompounds are awesome, If you like that cord no cord feel take a look at the Avon Pro D2x. Pretty much the same grip, slighty rougher feel but still pretty nice. I just bought some from Golfsmith and installed 'em, there 3.99 a piece.

The multi compounds are the new trend in grips. I prefer them over the regular rubber grip for certain.

In comparison from GP to the other companyies I find the GP to be the longest lasting and a bit more rubbery (if thats a word) than the others.
If you play alot of golf the other grips might be a better option from acost standpoint

Mcgolf may be correct, not sure of the durability of the Avons, I just put them on last week, but worth a test I'd think. No bears colors either, I was wondering how these companies pick the colors and sizes for stuff they manufacture so I e-mailed Golf Pride and asked if they had any future plans to produce the Multi Compounds in a different color besides red in the mid size. Their reply was "if the pro's ask for it, they'd probably produce it" I thought that odd since the pro's make up a very small market when it comes to actually buying the products. But guess the pro's are how they get their advertising done and the multi-compounds being so unique looking and red are easily identifiable. Anyway, hope the D2x's work for ya if you go that route.

For my money, I'll purchase the Tacki-mac multis over the golfpride. The Tacki's are quality grips with great feel. The GP's are simply not worth 3x's the price

Cool

I have some of the PTO grips by Sharpro, and they're not bad. I like how light the grip is, it increases the swing weight of my driver a good 2 points. What I don't like about the Sharpro PTO grip, is that the grip isn't perfectly round. When I measured the diameter of the grip 2 inches up from the lower end, it measures .030" bigger, top to bottom, than side to side. I can see how this could be a problem for someone that likes to work the ball by rotating the the club in their hands to open or close the face. The only club I've got the grip on is my driver so far, and it's working out okay.
