HELP Crack on hosel of Driver HELP

Any suggestions welcome. I stupidly just bought a used driver on ebay. It had a hairline crack at the back of the hosel where it meets the crown. I did a water test and there are small bubbles coming out. Is the driver ruined or can I repair it somehow. Any suggestions would be great. The seller denies all responsiblility and refuses to give me a refund. By the way dont buy from clubswinger21 on ebay. Thanks

im a firm believer in ebay, i use it all the time. file a claim with ebay or paypal. if not, take it to a clubmaker to see. its possible that it can be repaired.

good luck

tell ebay that the item description said it was in "xxxx" condition and in no way mentioned anything was cracked, rendering it unusable

Not so happy about ebay. This is the first club I bought on ebay and it looks like I've been shafted I have started the dispute process but am not holding my breath. All in all I think next time I'll spend the extra hundred dollars and save myself a world of grief.

OK so here is what I'm thinking. The crack is about 3/8 of an inch long its at the base of the hosel where it meets the crown of the driver. I bought some two part metal epoxy.(specifically made for Metal. I'll mix some of that up and cover the area and push with gloved hand the epoxy into the crack. Once again it's a hairline crack so it will have to be worked in. Let it dry for a day or two and then try the water test again. The only question is should I strip the paint find the ends of the crack and drill small holes at each end to stop the possible creeping of the crack. Dont really want to do this if I can avoid it because it seems a lot more intrusive. Also Does anyone know how a bridgestone J33r driver is put together. I know I've seen some drivers have a seperate crown made of ultra light material to transfer the weight to the bottom of the driver and rear. If this driver is built that way maybe the crack is on the weld between the crown and hosel. Grasping at straws but The situation is killing me.

Sorry to tell ya mate but its dead. It doesn't matter how much you fill it or glue it it will never play the way it was before. Trying getting in touch with a Bridgestone rep, see what they say. Of course leave out the bit about buying on e-bay

I wouldn't put anything over the crack. Call Bridgestone and tell them it cracked and see if they will replace the head. Don't mess with it at all.
