They're in the right place - olive oil will do the trick. Probably any cooking oil, but I've use olive oil.

Re: Getting Stickers Off The Shaft

I take the club outside, and use a paper towel soaked with a little Coleman stove fuel on it. It's pure naptha, doesn't hurt the finish, but desolves the gummy residue right off. I don't do it in the house, because Coleman fuel is too flamable. But it evaporates instantly, and leaves no smell or residue on the shaft. Does not seem to hurt the finish on graphite shafts, either. At a local pro shop, they use a commercial product that is made for just that purpose...can't remember the name, but it's available at Walmart, I think. Nail polish remover works OK too, but be careful, because the acetone in it can damage the plastic finish on graphite shafts if it is on too long.

I'll have to try that Coleman fuel. Acetone eats the finish from graphite graphite, the painted letters from steel shafts, and the ferrule material as well. I always use olive oil and then clean the olive oil with 50% Isopropynol.

Re: Getting Stickers Off The Shaft

Yeah, I like the Coleman fuel, or the Walmart equivilent...it's cheaper. But be careful, that naptha can be super explosive in a confined space....I only do it in the back yard. As flammable as that stuff is, it could "dissolve" your house, your marriage and you along with unwanted shaft labels. I once poured a cup full into an underground yellow jackets' nest, threw in a match and blew a foot wide hole in the ground....nasty stuff. Fortunately for me, it also killed all the wasps.

Rubbing alcohol is best, IMO.

I have also used spray deodorant and that worked OK.
