Go to an auto parts store, and check out Eagle One's Nevr-Dull. Works on chrome, stainless, etc. It'll make your clubs (and your motorcycle) pretty again.
Slingshots are made of stainless steel. They're polished, but other than that, what "finish" could possibly be harmed?
Do you need to pay special attention to not damage (or uglify) the actual face surface (the dull greyish (?sandblasted?) grooved part). Presumably you would want to leave that part dull.

Hmmmm... I don't know SS, but Nevr-Dull can't possibly do as much damage to that part of the club as a metal brush can. That part of my Staffs is polished from all the brushing I've done to them over the years (though I honestly don't remember that part ever being finished any different than the rest of the clubhead). It doesn't effect the spin any, so I see no harm in it.
I use a bunch of high end car products on all of my clubs. Zaino bros wash and wax, Poorboy's SSR2.5 polish, and a Porter Cable orbital buffer with Propel P2 pads. The Zaino wash is great for general after round cleaning, just drop a cap-full into a cup of water and clean with a microfiber towel and club brush. The polish and buffer shines up the irons, and takes fine scratches out of the tops of the woods. Then a layer of the Zaino wax on everything but the faces. It sounds like a lot, but after some practice you can do the whole set in a half hour. Needs to be re-done once a month or so to keep them looking brand new.
Try simi-chrome polish from golf works or MAAS from walmart or lowe's, it's a metal polish that I've been using for years on my clubs with no damage. It comes in a small toothpaste type container. Good luck.
