Making my first club

I was interested in building my own 3-wood, and 5-woods, as mine are about six years old, and I really am interested in something different. Where is the best place to figure out how to do these things after I buy the club head, shaft, grip etc. I know a little about club making as I work at a golf course, but have never done more than re-grip clubs so any online tutorials would be much appreciated. Thank you very much guys!! Hope everyone hits the links this weekend!

Re: Making my first club

Welcome to club making. I make my own and find it enjoyable to lay and tweak your own handiwork.

Try the tutorials offered on Golfsmith.com.

Some equipment you will find useful
Vise and rubber shaft holder
pencil torch or heat gun
shaft puller
swingweight scale
epoxy glue and shafting beads
ferrules
tape measure
steel brush for cleaning hosels
pipe cutter for steel shafts
rod saw for graphite shafts
emory cloth

I would also buy a good spine alignment tool. jb spine tool is good.

A lot of the stuff can be purchased at hardware store or on ebay under clubmaking.
myostrichgolf.com is another good source or golfsmith.

good luck

Re: Making my first club

Golfsmith has a 1/2 day club making class you should take. It's either free or close to it, and you get to keep the club you build in the class, so it really is free. I took the class 4 years ago, and it's well worth it. You learn how to build a club, what tools you'll need, and you're off and running.
