paintfilling clubs...?

I am very interested in paintfilling my clubs just to make them a little less dull looking and easier to look at. I have testors enamel model paint, and I know how to go about doing it. My question is what kind of clear to use after the color dries? I read that if you don't use clear the color will come out when you clean the clubs... any help would be great! thanks!
