New driver or not, you decide

I recently broke my snake eyes titanium driver shaft right at the hausel, the club head is in pretty good shape still.

So should I get a new shaft for the head, or get a new driver?

I myself am leaning towards a driver, but I would like to hear some others input.

If you hit your old driver good, then I suggest you get a new shaft. Test try 2 or 3 new drivers you might be considering at a driving range, and see how they compare to your old driver's distance, accuracy and consistancey in hitting the ball good. I tried out many new 460cc drivers before I found a driver that I hit better than my old driver.
If you decide on a new shaft then get fitted for the proper shaft in your old driver. The shaft makes a lot of difference in performance.

Doesn't take much of an excuse for me to go shop for new clubs, and you have a perfect one!

I think that if I put a decent shaft on it, it would definitely be a better club. Maybe an Aldila .

I have tried the Hi-Bore XL out and really dig that, but don't want to splurge that much on a club, so if I get a new driver it would probaly be the regular Hi-bore. Or maybe even the Launcher

It really depends on how much you'd spend on a shaft and how much you'd spend on a driver.

If you'd put a $25 special in it, then you'd be spending way more for a whole new driver.

SuperSlice; What Snakeeyes driver do you have? That would be important in whether you should re-shaft it or get a new one. You say you like the Hi-Bore XL, but the price is too high. Check out the Goflsmith SR460. I've got one and it's half way between the Hi-Bore and the XL in size. I just did a test of it for another forum, and I hit the longest drive in the test of 4 drivers with the SR460. Well worth checking out. Golfsmith has it on sale right now, so the time is right if you decide on a new driver. Let me know what head you have now, and the loft.

Try the SR4460 driver at Golfsmith. I think you'll like it about the same as the HiBore, and it's on sale now for less the $80 for the head. Teh reason I asked what drive it was, is that I have a SnakeEyes 600TC driver, and it's a great driver also.

Re: New driver or not, you decide

I went to the Golfsmith and the head wasn't worth re-shafting, the face on it had concaved.

So I bought a used Hi-Bore XL
