Two weeks ago I bought a CG11 off ebay (50*) this wedge has a dynamic gold wedge flex shaft. I liked the wedge so bought the sandwedge also off ebay,
However the sand wedge has a different step pattern than the gap wedge. There is no shaft band on but the black transfer on the shaft says True Temper Dynamic Gold, I've been on the True Temper web site but it doesn't seem to match anything in the shaft id section.
the pattern from the bottom step goes | 2" | 2" | 2.2" | 2" | 2.2" | 2"

Can anyone help i.d which DG shaft this is?
Thanks
If the silk screening has Dynamic Gold on it, then its pretty much a dynamic gold shaft. There is only 1 dynamic gold shaft that I'm aware of. Are you 100% positive the step pattern is different than your wedge flex DG? I mean, its very possible that the first step will be a different distance from the tip, but you should be able to take any random 2-3 steps and they should be identical to the other shaft. Dynamic Gold is the name of the shaft. There is only one shaft by this name. Its not to say that it could be trimmed in different fashions so the step pattern could appear different.
BTW -- A dynamic gold wedge flex is a DGS300 with 4" trimmed off the tip, or basically a 9I shaft when talking taper tips.

I thought it might be a DG Lite or DG SL as these have different step patterns. Also, I notice that that the step pattern can change depending on the flex. I know most wedges are stiff flex but cleveland offer these shafts in R and X also.

I'm 100% sure. EVERY step on the Shaft with the band on it is 1.75", while every step on the shaft without the band is at least 2". Not one step matches up.
It's not uncommon for the shaft companys to build shafts just for the OEM's, to different specs, and the same name as standard shafts on the market. Happens all the time with graphite shafts. Slight changes for some reason, be it ball flight needs, or to meet a price point.

I know for a fact that DG SL will say that on the silk screening. I'm not sure about the DG lite. You got me on this one, sorry I couldn't be more help.
OEM's buy shaft in bulk, thousands at a time. Could be one wedge was built with a shaft from a different shaft order, and the specs for the next order of shafts was changed a bit. To be honest, I don't know why, just trying to come up with possible reasons for the different shafts. One more idea. TT just purchased the old Rifle patents and stuff. Could it be TT obtained some Rifle shafts and put DG stickers on them?
It could be I guess. But the silk screening doesn't just say True Temper, it says Dynamic Gold which are pre-weighted dynamic shafts. This is the name of a specific offering by true temper. And all dynamics start out as the same blanks and trimmed to flex designations. Even the tapered tip dynamic gold start as the same dynamic blank. Thats about all I know and I don't have an idea as to why the step pattern would be different.
