Are all hybrid shaft tips .370? I was looking at a list and it seems to be, except for a very few, but I didn't see what I was looking for. I was specifically wondering about the Nickent 4DX Ironwood tip size.

Some hybrids take a .335 wood shaft. Watch for this when you buy heads and shafts.

I'm not sure, but I've also heard that some of the TaylorMade hybrids use a .350" tip. Some of you clubmakers may have more information on that as to whether or not it's true.

I don't know why they don't make all clubs with .370 hosels, and be done with all this nonsense. If nothing else the torque of wood shaft would be a little less, and that wouldn't hurt a thing. Why do we need four tip diameters?

0.370", 0.335", 0.350", 0.355" -- There are no standards when it comes to hybrids. From the number stamped on the clubhead, to the hosel diameter, to the headweight. Assembling hybrids correctly is a bit more involved than just gluing a shaft into a head. YOU MUST be aware of headweight. Often times hybrids that come with 0.370" hosels will have headweights similar to std. iron head weights and therefore clublength should be close to its iron counterpart. This, in some respect, makes it a little easier as you can follow mfg. shaft tipping suggestions that you are comfortable with. Hybrids with 0.335" hosels tend to be a little more tricky because the headweights are more inconsistent and you may have to get creative in your shaft tipping.
