Reshaft .335.to .370

I have a set of Prologic shafts which are Taper tip. My question is if cut the tip to the .370 point. and then put the 3 iron shaft in 4i head ect. I know I would have to weight the tips to achieve the swing weight? Can this be done? THANKS

Re: Reshaft .335.to .370

.335" is a small bore, parallel tip wood shaft. .370" is the large bore, parallel tip iron shaft diameter. I can't imagine a reason to put wood shafts in irons.

The only taper tip iron shafts are .355". I don't like the idea of drilling heads or using inserts. Cutting the taper off of a .355" shaft won't enable them to fit correctly in a .370" bore head.

Re: Reshaft .335.to .370

I assume you meant to type .355 taper tip, not .335. And I doubt you would have to weight the tips to get the swing weight you want, as all iron shafts come a few inches longer than finished length. If the shafts are 3 inches longer than needed, and you cut off 2 inches to remove the taper tips, you'd still have an extra inch to work with for finished length. If you do this, I"d recommend you do just one club first, and see if you like the results before you do the whole set. Better to be safe than sorry.
