I've seen posts about bending wedges to reduce the loft angle and make a stronger club. I have a Taylor-Made Point and Shoot SW. It's about 7 years old, and I'm playing four wedges just because I like it, but the angles are kind of off. My PW is 45*, DW is 50*, then my SW is 56* with 7 deg of bounce and my LW is 58 (Std. bounce, its a CG11, not sure what the bounce is on those). My question is, can i deloft the SW to 54* to create a little more of a gap between the two? I'm worried that if I do deloft the club, it's going to be expensive first of all (I only paid $30 for the club), and second and more importantly the bounce angle is going to become extremely low, I'm not sure how much but probably down to 4*. Can anyone give advice on what I should do? Taking the SW out is an option too, I probably don't need it...thanks in advance for the advice!
i just found another post that talked about prices of bending and it said that one degree less loft means 1 less degree of bounce as well...is 5* of bounce going to be hard to hit? if it costs less than $10 or so i'll probably just bend it, but i found some new cg11 satin 54* wedges for $50, and i know the store that has them so i may be able to take off shipping...i really like the cg11 58* i have, but i dont know if it's worth it to pay $50 for another one...its only january and i've spent $300 upgrading my clubs (but i didnt do anything past 2 years)

If the SW is the club you actually hit from the sand, then 5* would be very little bounce. 10*-15* is a more typical bounce value for a sand club. If you want to use your 54* from the sand, you might want to buy a new one.
yea, i am looking at using the 54* from the sand...i'll probably go with another cg11 54* with std bounce...i dont think i need the 10* or 14* bounce, so 12* should be fine...thanks for the replies!

Who charges for bending? I went to a Golf Galaxy and they didn't charge me. It takes like 5 seconds. If you try some different places, especially somewhere you've bought from and trust, I bet they'd do it for nothing.
Most store will charge a fee to bend irons, around $5 to $10 per clubs, If you purchased the clubs there, you might get it done free, but not if you just bring in a club and ask for free labor. Same for adjusting the lie angle on your clubs.
I appreciate all the advice, but I ended up buying a new CG11 54* SW 2-dot bounce...I found a $30 gift card that I forgot I had, and a brand new CG11 was going for $50, so I thought for $20 I couldn't get a better deal. The bending would have cost $10, but I really like my 58* CG11 so I thought $20 was worth it for a brand new one. Thanks for all the advice everyone, sorry for kind of going in a completely different route...
