title explains it. Wanted to try out a new driver head, and i managed to crack the tip end of the shaft while pulling it from the head. The crack from what i can see measures approx 1" from the edge of the tip. I've looked at the shaft tipping instructions, and if i cut above the crack, I may be able to use it as either a 5 or 7 wood. Do you think this is a good idea??

Sounds like a good plan to me. Why waste a good shaft when you could use it in a fairway wood ? Go for it.

exactly what i was thinking....plus the shaft is being discontinued by golfsmith, the only other alternative is the graffalloy which is more than twice as much as i paid for pretty much the same exact shaft sans the graphics.

If you check, you might notice that the snake eyes version has a little higher torque rating, so it's not exactly the same shaft. Of the two, I'd rather have the Grafalloy version.
