Hey guys, I have a Ping TiSi Tec Driver that has a shaft in it that I want to change. The hozel is plastic so my local club repair shop said they couldn't do it for me . I currently have a .350 tip Adila VS Proto (proper tip diameter) that I want to have installed and now I have no idea what to do. I am aware that ping might take the club back to reshaft it but that will be an expensive process I'm sure. Can anyone suggest to me what else I might be able to try? Any club makers on this forum located in Canada who I could send it to? Would ping be willing to just send me a replacment hozel for when the current one is burned off?
Any helpful ideas would be appreciated! Thanks!
That's the problem with reshafting a Ping driver. My local shop shop carries the inserts, but I'm 3/4 a continent away, so that's not going to do you any good. There is probably a shop somewhere near your area that'll carry the inserts and do the work. Good luck finding one.
I know the plastic hosel ( sleeve ) for the TiSi could be purchased, GS might carry it or you could get one from Ping.
Here is an article for your reference OEM Information - reshafting Ping TISI driver
Release, I have emailed GS asking for advice and to find out whether or not they carry the hosel replacement.
Lowof83, do you think that I could order one through you if I have no other options?
Probably dave39, but I'll need to know the loft and lie options ahead of time so I can call the shop to make sure they have the exact one in stock. Just PM me if it becomes necessary.
I'm glad I don't have that problem with my Ping G2, or any other driver for that matter. This is one thing to thing about when buying a new driver if you're the type of golfer that changes shafts around. Better to do a little research before you buy than after the money is out of your wallet.
Yep, live and learn eh? No worries though.. I might have a solution in the works.
dave39, my buddy at the golf shop told me that there is a hosel piece to convert the Ping from .350" to .335", so that's something else you might want to consider as an option. Let me know if you'd prefer the .335" insert, and I'll call him back and have him put one away for you.
That would be an option for sure but I have the shaft here right now with the .350 tip. So unfortunately if I do go that route I will have to put in a purple ice shaft that i have here.. was really hoping to just put the Adila in. I see "ping TiSi adapters" for sale on golfsmith and golfworks websites but I am not sure how to go about getting the job done where I live. I wish I could just do it myself, haha.
What did you buddy say regarding the work? Do they do it at that shop with a .350 tip hosel or would i have to have them install that conversion piece and use a shaft with a .335 tip?
This is a link to the adapter: PING ADAPTORS
Any any club builder give some tips if possible as well?

Then use the Aldila. Always do what you think is going to give you the best result, unless you get fitted, and see that your wants don't meet your needs.
They can do the work either way, but he said they sell more of the .335" adapters because they sell more .335" shafts. He did say they have the .350" "black dot" adapters in stock.
I've never done a bore-thru installation, so I'll leave it to a clubmaker to give you advice on that. Personally, I'd contact a local club shop, and let them do the work on the Ping.
Yeah, I think I am just going to order one of those adapters in from golfworks and have the local guy here try to do it for me. It will be new to him so I am going to be scared for my shaft but what the ****. Even if things don't work out I still have my 905R to keep me in the short stuff. Thanks so much lowof, appreciate seeing a member who is willing to go the extra distance to help another member out.
