PING iron shaft bore size

Here's a question I should know the answer to... If anyone knows of the top of their head; Did PING use .355" taper or .370" parallel shafts on the Eye2's? I could dig out my calipers, but this might be easier.

I want to stick a UST ProForce Rv2 95 in my 2-iron, but I can only find them in .370" tip.

Don't hold me to this Martini, but I'm thinking I read that all Ping irons since the early 80's are .370". There's a guide you can download on the Golfsmith website (Acrobat format) that should say for sure.

Re: PING iron shaft bore size

I'm thinking they are .370" also. Even if they are .355" taper, I'm sure the .355" existing hole would make a pretty good "pilot" hole for a .370" drill press.

Re: PING iron shaft bore size

I'm with you on that. If they are 355" I'd drill them out to .370" and not worry about it. Much more shaft choices at .370". so why not drill them out? I got a good deal on a pair of wedge head with 355 hosels, and I drilled them out as soon as I got them. It's easy to do, and it saves a lot of trouble in the long run.
