Worth Spending the money??

OK So I am using a set of DCI 990's which I bought new in 2001. I love the clubs, they feel great but looking a little tired. The grooves are in great shap but between the tow and heal (not sure the name of it ) it has some scratches in them.

I was told new clubs this year is not going to happen unless we sell our second house which dosn't look good in this market or I win the lottery or want to be single..

They are stock other then I have had them re-gripped a few times - Can a club place re-polish them or something to get the scratches out of them and made to look nicer? Is it worth having them fitted? About how much is a fitting? Is it cost effective? I really do love these clubs.

If they are functionally fine, I'd say love them unconditionally (i.e. leave them as they are). Caring too much about irons' appearance leads to thin shots!

Re: Worth Spending the money??

Carrying a set of sparkling polished irons to the course for some reason gives me the impressions of noobies/ hackers. For me I go for the slight wear and tear, but scrubbed clean look.
